The price includes the potassium. A piece of 300gsm cold pressed watercolour paper, lemon juice, PVA glue gold, bronze & silver paint, tools such as paint brushes, glue brushes, palette knives, rulers, scissors, pencils, rubbers, water pots, aprons.

Students are asked to think of a theme such as where your mother or grandmother lived and bring along things that tie in to this theme such as – black and white and colour photocopies of images (not images in magazines that appear shinny as the potassium doesn’t work on them very well). Images from newspapers are even better. Old photos (black and white or colour), overhead projector film with images on it, texture paste, textured papers, lace, found items such as buttons, brooches, ribbons, shells, old keys, medallions, stencils, earrings, necklaces, cards, sand, dried flowers and things of sentimental value. Students can create any theme; you could do a garden theme with a beautiful seat, a photocopy or photo of a cat or dog, children playing, a bird on a post, a photocopy of a bridge and flower pots. Your theme could be an old cotton plantation (you draw or trace an old Colonial home) after drawing the old home you then paint the line work with potassium. Then you start dipping photocopies or images into potassium and glueing them down. Add an old road and add textured paste to the road. Add any of the things suggested above. Add an old carriage on the road or a lady with a parasol or a big old tree, it is all up to your imagination!!
