Yes… All our art classes at Art Classes Brisbane are suitable for beginners and advanced artists.

There are 4 art terms in a calendar year, the terms are in line with Queensland Public School terms. Some terms may be 10 weeks in duration, while other terms may only be 8 weeks. This length of the term alters the price of a term. Students who pay for a term pay $40 per 3 hour lesson and bring along their own art supplies. Students who pay for the full term receive a discount of 1 x 3 hour lesson($40).

The price of individual workshops is governed by the cost of the art materials as all art materials are provided unless specified otherwise on the advertising for that particular workshop.
Mosaic for Beginners workshops have a set price of $230 per student for a full day (9am – 4pm). The price of $230 covers all tiles, glue, grout, embellishments, sealer, a 30cm x 30cm base such as: a plaque(you can create your house number or a striking design for indoors or outdoors), a large terracotta pot or a small rectangular succulent pot, a wooden serving tray, a terracotta bird bath or a fruit bowl. Students may prefer to bring their own base, something that they have always wanted to mosaic. Please be aware that an extra cost to cover the tiles and glue for a larger object than 30cm x 30cm will be incurred. Larger items may or may not be completed on the day. If a larger item is not completed students are welcome to purchase extra tiles, glue and grout to take and complete at home at their leisure. Protective gloves, safety goggles and all tools are provided in the $230 cost.

Courses run on a weekly basis during the four public school terms each year. Each course runs for 8 weeks, 9 weeks or 10 weeks (see the term page for details). Our term courses have been designed to be progressive, so that you can confidently move from one level to the next, knowing that you have all of the skills you need to advance to the next stage.
Workshops range from 3 hours to 1 day and are taught by visiting artists from Queensland or by the facilitator Debra. They are a one off event(except Mosaic for Beginners which are generally held the last Sunday of each month) and are held at various times throughout the year, both during and outside of the term schedule.

All term fees, casual classes, art parties and workshops must be paid in full before the commencement of classes. Students are advised that classes may fill to capacity before the term or workshop commence. To avoid disappointment, term courses, art party dates and workshop book out quickly, the sooner students enrol then they are guaranteed of a placement in the term course, art party dates or workshop.

A class or workshop may on a rare occasion be cancelled. Once you have enrolled, please delay purchasing required art materials until you receive confirmation that the class or workshop is going ahead. This confirmation will usually be sent to you via email at least 7 days before the course/workshop is due to commence. In most instances workshop materials are provided, please check the individual medium pages to inform you of art materials required. Students are welcome to try 2 or 3 mediums(such as acrylic, watercolour, or oil) per term. Students can purchase art supplies from our small store of supplies at Art Classes Brisbane. If students are time poor (unable to purchase art materials), then students are welcome to use the art supplies provided by Art Classes Brisbane for a fee of $15 per lesson. Re: Art Parties, all materials are supplied.

Students may purchase the recommended art supplies for the medium they have chosen to learn and bring this along to their first lesson. This however is not a mandatory requirement, students may instead choose to attend the first class and use the art materials supplied free of charge. At the completion of the first lesson each student will be provided with an art materials list so they can purchase their own art supplies before attending the second class. Students may also choose to use art supplies provided by Art Classes Brisbane for $15 per lesson. Prices quoted for adult classes exclude materials unless specified otherwise.
If you are interested in attending and would like to purchase art supplies please refer to the specific page for details of what materials you will need to bring.

We offer small class sizes of 7 – 8 students to guarantee students receive individual tuition. Workshops may at times have 9 or 10 students depending on the level of skill required.

We recommend comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting paint on and some closed-toe shoes. Your painting space is set out to keep things tidy and we also have aprons available to use to protect you and your clothes.

The studio is air-conditioned and heated in winter so you can paint in comfort all year round, if weather permits fresh air and fans are the alternative.
Am I allowed to store my painting at the studio?
Unfortunately, we don’t have enough space available to store student’s paintings from courses and workshops.

Photographing or videoing your lesson is allowed but you must be mindful of other students and whether they want to be photographed or in your video. Please respect other students and ask permission before photographing or making a video of class activities.

If on the rare occasion we are required to cancel a class, art party or workshop, a suitable alternative date is organised between the students and tutor. Refunds are not provided. Please read our cancellation and refund policy in our terms and conditions carefully.

Sometimes it is not possible to attend class due to sickness or work or many other reasons. Art Classes Brisbane allows students to miss three lessons in a term and reschedule these lessons on another day/time that is suitable to the student and the tutor. Unfortunately refunds are not provided for missed lessons.

Students are unable to attend if unwell. The likelihood of passing infection onto other students is not desirable and should be avoided.

Parking is available on the street in front of the premises(please do not park on the opposite side as it makes the road quite narrow for local traffic). Parking is also available in Nakina Lane which is on the right just before the premises. Students are welcome to also park in the driveway of Art Classes Brisbane.

Yes, a 15minute, healthy, morning and afternoon tea is provided in our beautiful outdoor tropical garden setting. This consists of fruit and nuts, dips and crackers and tea and coffee or cordial.

Unfortunately, we do not have wheelchair access as the boardwalk has three stairs. A toilet is provided for use for attending students. Please contact us to discuss specific accessibility needs.
